The Digital Gold Foundation aspires to establish itself as the first self-regulating organization within the cryptocurrency industry. Our primary objective is to develop rigorous standards, particularly in the area of reporting value fundamentals, to promote transparency and accountability regarding coin price discovery. By setting a benchmark for responsible practices, we aim to enhance confidence among investors, policymakers, and the public.
To this end, we are engaging nationwide with policymakers to ensure that the regulatory framework for cryptocurrency is both informed and balanced.
Within the next six months, we plan to establish relationships with representatives from both the State House and Senate in each of the 50 states and U.S. territories. Our role will be to provide objective guidance, assisting state treasuries and legislatures in understanding the nature of cryptocurrency. This educational effort is critical, as many states will soon face decisions regarding the inclusion of digital assets in their investment portfolios.
By equipping policymakers with sound knowledge, we hope to facilitate decisions that serve the public interest.
Central to our mission is the promotion of a rational understanding of cryptocurrency’s intrinsic value. While the current market capitalization of the cryptocurrency sector approximates $3 trillion, I believe a more thorough evaluation of its fundamentals suggests a potential value closer to $18 trillion, with Bitcoin alone accounting for roughly $2.7 trillion. This perspective is not rooted in speculation but in a careful assessment of the technology’s transformative potential and its growing adoption. Nevertheless, such projections must be approached with caution, as the path to realizing this value will require disciplined effort and widespread education.
