HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 3001

A concurrent resolution encouraging the State Treasurer and State Investment Board to invest selected state funds in digital assets and precious metals.

WHEREAS, inflation erodes the purchasing power of money held in state funds and affects the state's financial stability and economic security; and

WHEREAS, the State Treasurer and State Investment Board have a responsibility to safeguard the state's financial resources against the impacts of inflation and other economic uncertainties; and

WHEREAS, investment diversification may preserve the state's financial resources purchasing power and protect against inflation; and

WHEREAS, changing economic conditions and emerging investment opportunities require prudent investment of the state's financial resources;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF NORTH DAKOTA, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN:

That the Legislative Assembly encourages the State Treasurer and State Investment Board to invest a portion of the state general fund, budget stabilization fund, and legacy fund in digital assets and precious metals; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of State forward copies of this resolution to the State Treasurer and the members of the State Investment Board.
